Dr West and staff changed my life! A friend told me to see them about Neurolens Glasses. I am a senior and have suffered from migraines since I was 12 years old. I have been in ER countless visits, expensive meds, self injections, holistic procedures, botox, surgeries, and much more for over 55 years! Dr. West did simple tests on me and I was a perfect candidate. The Neurolens Glasses corrects my overworking optical nerves to work with my eyes. I have never gone 2 weeks without a migraine. I am now going on 3 months and I do not suffer from migraines!! I do not wake up with daily headaches either. I wish to help spread this message to others to help stop others from suffering like I have for multiple years. They are incredibly nice and very very friendly but if you'e been a patient for a few years like we have it is important to note that they no longer accept any vision insurance. I was super surprised to get a $350 bill for the exam. They also didn't ask anything about our budget for frames and showed my 15yo son $550 frames (without every sharing the price) which he chose and then the lenses were another $350. I don't wear glasses so I had no clue simple clear plastic frames with no designer logo could be that expensive nor do I think it's appropriate to show a kid glasses that, with lenses, are close to $900. I didn't find out the price until I went to check out. I was so uncomfortable and I just felt yucky after I left. I should have asked about price and I should have canceled the glasses order and walked out but I was in shock and needed to get home for another appointment. I felt taken advantage of because we live in Westlake. We won't be going back. There are plenty of places that take our vision insurance. This was a $1200 mistake. If that's your budget for an exam and glasses, which could be reasonable for an adult and you want the convenience of proximity, it's fine but I felt taken advantage of and upsold. More

I ABSOULTELY LOVE West vision. Dr. West is such a great eye doctor and I trust him with my whole heart with his treatment plans and knowledge. I’ve been having issues for so long thinking they were medical and I went and to see him and he was able to diagnose and get me into a pair of glasses that are going to help me so much! I can’t wait to get my glasses and I have no doubt that they are going to fix my issues. I take all my kids here and he does an amazing job. Yesterday I went in and met someone I hadn’t before and I have to give a shout out to her bc out of all the interactions I’ve had with all other staff this girl Avery was seriously AMAZING. If you do go to west vision and you need someone kind and patient she is your girl. I will always go to Avery from here on out and I just wanted to give a shout out bc she took so much time with me to make sure I got contacts and a frame that would look and work best for me. All the staff has been wonderful but Avery went the extra mile for me. Thanks west vision for your amazing patient care!! More

I had the full works here. Exam, contact fitting and bought glasses. I had almost no wait, I got to an exam room and was dilated, bought glasses in the time I was dilated. For his 3rd time ever selling glasses, it was great! It was a very pleasant visit. I was there a little over an hour and 20min for all of that. I was listened to, conferred with and informed. I got my itemized receipt for my FSA and was given my contact and glasses Rx! More

We had such a wonderful experience working with Julie to help my son (2) get new glasses. Finding an optometrist in Austin who specializes in pediatric glasses is next to impossible - I called a ton of places but no one could help me. Thankfully, I called Westlake Hills Vision Center and spoke to Julie. She referenced her long history working with kids and told us to come in! After a long morning at the ophthalmologist, Julie was such a lifesaver and made a seemingly daunting process easy. She helped me properly measure my son’s face and distance between his pupils and order frames online. She also gave me great tips to help him get used to the fact that he would soon be wearing glasses. Both Julie and her coworker Lauren were friendly and AMAZING with my son, who, at 2, is a typical toddler and wanted nothing to do with the whole thing! In the weeks that followed, Julie was helpful and communicative. My son looks absolutely adorable in his new glasses and it’s been a pretty smooth transition. I cannot recommend this place enough! I am a current patient of Dr. West. I first visited him because of dissatisfaction with another Dr. and not being able to see adequately with my glasses or contacts. Dr. West did an exam and explained some reasons I was having difficulty. He gave me anew prescription and what a difference! To quote Stevie Wonder, "I can see clearly now". More

As I got older my prescriptions mandated the use of bifocals. Hating the dreaded “line” I really coveted the use of progressive bifocals, but each pair I tried required turning my head to look directly at the object to be focused on. One Doctor equated it to “like a chicken pecking a grain of corn!” Being an outdoor person, loss of peripheral vision is not good! It impossible to draw and aim a bow while turning your head directly at the target…you must look slightly sideways! Then Dr West!!! Being an outdoorsman himself knew exactly my delimma!! The fix was so simple I can’t imagine while the three other opticians I had been to didn’t know the solution!! He simply said “you’ve chosen the wrong frames.” (The lenses were not wide enough) I let him choose for me and the issue is resolved. You do not have to be like a chicken!! THEN MAUI JIM. Polarized glasses are so important for outdoors people. Not only for style and comfort (which they do provide) but for protection from harmful I’ve rays from sunlight. My wife gifted me Maui Jim’s for Christmas in my progressive bifocal prescription. These glasses offer the same clear - wide periferral vision. The tint is progressive as well in that they are darker in the top two thirds of the lense then transitioning to a lighter tint in the reading portion of the lense. While driving, on the lake, or just any outdoor activity, I love my Maui Jim’s!! I am thrilled with my renewed, near perfect vision thanks to Dr West and his Staff. More

I did research when I selected this eye doctor. I was new to Tyler and wanted better care than what I normally get. He took very good care of me and I will go back to complete my purchase once I get the funds to purchase the glasses I need. He did a lot of tests Indiana have never done. The staff are great and I felt like a member of their family. I would suggest coming here for all your eye care needs. More

Dr West is very competent. He identified and treated a bacterial infection in my eye. The infection was previously missed by two ophthalmologists. Dr West has also prescribed bifocal transition glasses that work great. I would love to try out the new NUEROLENS. More

I am a current patient at West Vision and I have nothing, but good things to say. I’m always greeted sincerely when entering. I mean sincerely 100% ! The atmosphere is always great. You can just tell that they are extremely genuine people. My exam was quick, easy, and thorough. I love the front desk staff they helped me with my glasses last year and my contacts this year. I was even able to order my contacts on the phone & have them shipped to my home. Everything is just so simple with West Vision they help you from beginning to end. Very Professional and know their stuff. I enjoyed the experience and was very happy with the outcome. That being said this is not the place to buy cheap glasses. the brands they carry are not Walmart types of glasses but there are certain things you need to take better care of like feet and eyes you don't want to skimp on these. may cost a bit more than what I'm used to but the end result was 100% worth every penny. The staff is really friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. I went through an eye exam, shopped for glasses, they helped (literally everyone available in the office, haha) me pick out a pair that I love (Gucci!), and discussed all the "bells and whistles" I could include. I decided to go with Zeiss lenses, as they're the best in the business, with transitions so I don't have to have a separate pair of sunglasses. My son has very aggressive Keratoconus. We were able to have him enrolled in the corneal cross-linking trials which halted progression of the disease. However, The disease had progressed to the degree that his vision was barely better than blind. After 70+ visits and fitting sessions for contacts which could never be made to fit comfortably and made only slight improvements.... and lots and lots of tears I frustration ...we were beginning to explore the idea of corneal transplant. I'm not exactly sure how I got Dr. West's contact information, but I called his office and asked his staff if he had any experience with keratoconus and was told that he did so we made an appointment. Simply put, after all the years and the stress and the financial hardship, and the pain and the fear and the anger…after two visits, yes two visits, my son walked out with the glasses and no contacts. If anyone has Keratoconus, walk, no run to this office! God bless you Dr. West for giving my son his life back. More

For years, I've been running the common, annual eye check/new glasses at cookie cut locations. I've had several eye conditions, but no real answers. Dr. West took his time, answered my medical questions and even corrected it with my prescription. The staff was polite, knowledgeable and helpful. The selection of glasses are great! Absolutely excellent service. On my first visit, the first words out of Dr. West's mouth was " Are you ready to see today?" Sure enough, after about 10 years of constant visits with other Eye clinics, I was able to stop wearing hard contacts after constantly switching to a new pair every 2-3 months with other clinics. Dr. West had me in to glasses by the end of the week. I was so amazed. I could actually see tree bark up to 50-60 feet away by the end of the month. (Had to allow my eyes to adjust from having a hard contacts in for several years) Today is nearly year three. Im still in glasses with no problems. I only need these glasses for fine print reading, and long hours at my computer. **I HIGHLY recommend this eye clinic to anyone with any stage of Keratoconus. ** Please note, my eyes are cosidered to be in chronic stages. However, I had crosslinking done, this has haulted the progress of my condition. The contact I had made with this new machine he has fits perfectly. I have never been able to keep one in my left eye due to how advanced the keratoconus was before linking. I was honestly losing hope for my eyes. I thought i was going to be blind soon. I was depressed, I really couldnt enjoy much in life with out squinting really hard. This Doctor literally changed my life. Thank you so much Dr West! ~Deric More

Dr Rabideau is nice and does a good job. The office is good- usually have a 15-20 min wait time for scheduled appointments. The glasses are expensive even with insurance you can get them cheaper & quicker online. And yes they do turn their phones off before closing so good luck trying to call them in the last 30 mins. The reason I chose the office to begin with was they had Saturday appointments which they got rid of. More

I have been to two other eye doctors in Tyler. Both were fine in their diagnosis but had so many other problems in their offices. In one, a "relative" of some important staff (who was also the employee who helped me) was rude and ugly to me when I went in to get an adjustment on the fit of my glasses. At the other office, I was pressured into buying a frame I had said I did not want. To top it off, one of the lenses seemed to be "off-center." However, when I found Dr. West and his team, I received professional, encouraging, honest, kind, helpful, accurate service every minute I spent with them. No pressure, no rudeness. Professional and Kind. You won't find a better optometrist or clinic in this area! More

I am very happy with Dr. Epstein. She prescribed glasses for me but diagnosed a cataract on my right eye. She sent me to the very best eye surgeon, Dr. Matthew Albright with Vision America, and now I have almost 20/20 vision in that eye. She said she would replace the lens for the right eye at no additional charge. Dr. Albright said very few optometrists would do that. The very best part — I can SEE AGAIN like I did many years ago. Do yourself a favor and breakup with your current optometrist. Dr. Drees and his team are as good as it gets! Everyone at this office treats you like family and has your best interest in mind. Routine visit was quick and painless, plus Rachael provided me with everything I needed to get reimbursed for my contacts - saved me a couple hundred bucks. And it gets better - I randomely stopped by a few days later to purchase a pair of glasses, when Dr. Drees walked out, remembered me by name, and personally helped myself and another customer pick out our frames.
