On August 1, 2024 I had a hearing test and evaluation with Dr. Lindsey Koehn, Audiologist at the Hearing Health Center, Streeterville location. I sat in a booth with headphones on while I listened to quite a variety of sounds at various volumes, pitches, background noise and silence. Afterwards, Dr. Koehn provided me a nice pictorial of my “Audiogram Test Results” and spent a lot of time patiently explaining the results and answering my many clarifying questions. According to my results I had hearing losses in both ears and she provided me sample hearing aids to experience the difference hearing aids could make. I did notice a positive difference, but I decided to wait and check back in another year. I will look forward to seeing Dr. Koehn next year! More

(Revising my review because they called the next day to apologize and they are striving to rectify my situation. I feel confident that my negative experience was a fluke and not the norm) Final Edit: My appointment went quite well. Everyone was very kind and extremely knowledgeable and attentive. Would certainly recommend them. Three suggestions when making an appointment: - The Loop location is busy and the waitlist can be months long. Consider checking the wait at other locations as it could be significantly shorter. - Parking at the Loop location is quite difficult. There is a garage nearby where the Hearing Health Center will validate your parking, but it was full when I arrived. Consider taking public/Uber if you can, or else get there very, very early to find parking (gave myself 40minutes and still wasn't enough time) - Also, my initial hearing assessment started with a long questionnaire. I recommend giving yourself an extra 15 minutes beforehand to get the paperwork out of the way, or else it will eat into your appointment time. More

The only thing I can say about Hearing Health Center, on Ontario and Michigan, after many years, is they make what you once considered a big problem a minor inconvenience. I would like to put in a good word for Hearing Health Center. A retired orchestral violist with high frequency hearing loss, I still listen to classical music both live, streamed on TV, and on my iPhone. The several audiologists I’ve worked with at HHC (currently Dr. David Hughes) have been uniquely understanding and patient. They’ve both tweaked my existing hearing aids and fit me with newer, state of the art models. Not every effort brings success, but it does seem that the goal here is long term patient satisfaction. The Hearing Health Center was recommended to me by a physician who is a customer. I have had continuously good service from the Hearing Health Center since my first visit in 2011. The audiologists are experts, and the whole staff provides great customer service. Recently a small part of my hearing aid's earpiece disappeared, affecting my hearing aid's performance. Dr. Buskirk managed to get the manufacturer to replace the piece and service the hearing aid free of charge, although my warranty had expired. Thanks again, Dr. Buskirk! More

The Hearing Health Center is very responsive to those with needs for hearing assistance. The staff is very helpful, especially Jennifer who leads the Office Administration team. I was referred there because my this is where my health insurance plan directed me to get my hearing aids. The downtown location is convenient to me. Traffic can be heavy getting there. They do offer validation for parking in a nearby garage. It is close to public transportation. They will help fix problems with hearing aids and it is not a long wait to get an appointment. After so many visits there is a charge for appointments, however I have peace of mind that all of my important hearing needs are addressed. I highly recommend this business and their mission. More

Hi 33M here and I’ve had bad ears for as long as I can remember (on my father’s side) and had been putting off getting my ears cleaned. I had to go in a few times because I had really hard wax, but then over debroxed myself (wax softener). They never gave up on me though and I now have super clear ears that I can hear a mouse’s heartbeat with (I’m sure actual results may vary :P ) These practitioners are great, my only regret is I’m moving to Seattle and cannot continue with them. Out of the three places I went, by far this was the most professional. They took the time from the moment I met the doctor to the end to do a full analysis of my ears, explained what my options were, an treated me as if I was part of the family. It’s a great place and service is top notch. I was a little disappointed that a normal hearing exam was not fully covered by insurance. While leaving I was told I had to pay a $45 fee for the clinic visit. It would have been nice to know this up front so as not to be surprised. I’m sure I paid before but I guess it slipped my mind after a year gap between visits. Either way I will continue to support this location. The service is well worth $45. More

Dr. Amanda McFadden was exceptionally helpful in solving problems with my hearing aids that I'd had for some time. I especially appreciated her careful testing and then the reprograming, cleaning, and adjusting she did to reflect the new findings. I thank God for the Hearing Health Center. A new chapter began in my life on August 24, 2017. I visited the center with a hearing problem since January 2017. I was greeted with smiles from the ladies at the desk. The first impression says a lot to me and I was pleased. Dr. Jaclyn Riel came and introduced herself to me and I felt her spirit of concern, I was happy and very comfortable with her. We went to her office and she explained that she would look into my ears and the sight was waxed built up. I had never had my hears cleaned before now, I will. Next, she explained about the test she would be doing in the audio booth and I wasn't scared. After, the audio booth we went back to her office. Dr. Riel said, "Susan I want to put some hearing aids in your ears so that you can hear want I am going to say to you." After. Dr. Riel did that and ask, "Can You hear Me." Tears just started flowing down my face and I couldn't stop because I could hear and I didn't know that I couldn't hear until that moment. Now I can hear rustling of the trees and the birds talking to one another. I love my experience with the Hearing Health Center and my new hearing aids. More

Dr. Ronna Fisher and her entire staff at HHC is dedicated to the world of hearing health. They want everyone to know exactly where their hearing condition currently stands. After watching close relatives sink into a very dark and lonely world because they refused to recognize their hearing loss, I can attest to the fact that hearing is not just a hearing problem but can lead to serious health issues. Another wonderful feature about HHC is that they offer a wide variety of hearing products to fit everyone’s needs. The world of hearing devices is changing as fast as the chip development world and HHC keeps up with many manufactures who bring new and innovative products to the market at a very rapid rate. Dr. Riel is more than a audiologist for my family. I have three children who have hearing losses. I came to The Hearing Health Center to get my daughter and youngest son new hearing aids. While at this appointment I received a call that my middle son had just been diagnosed with cancer. Dr. Riel continued to move forward with getting their hearing aids ordered while comforting me during the saddest point in my life. While going through our family cancer journey the Hearing Health Center Foundation was introduced to me again because my son was diagnosed with a hearing loss. I saw Dr. Buskirk last week for a problenm with my remote control. She corrected it effortlessly and cleaned and checked my hearing aids without asking! She spent time with me asking me questions to ensure my hearing aids were giving me optimum performance.I have been going to this clinic for about 3 years. I discovered them through my firm's Wellness Week. Hearing Health Center had a booth offering a free hearing test. I had been having hearing problems for years but was terrified what I would find. Sure enough, the audologist, Dr. Bugg, suggested more comprehensive testing at the clinic and I left the Center with the tiniest hearing aids I had ever seen! And could I hear! Thank you to the Hearing Health Center, particularly to Dr. Jaclyn Riel. I had been in denial about my hearing for a very long time, associating it with old age. But after talking to Dr. Riel, I realized that not only can my hearing get worse, but it could affect my overall health. With the support of my family I got the hearing aids. Dr. Riel really listened to my concerns and helped me prepare for the transition into the hearing world again. They were also able to help me financially afford the hearing aids with their special program. After wearing the hearing aids for a month, it has made a world of difference, especially at my job. I have been wearing hearing aids for almost five years. They were okay because I didn't know there was something better. Got tired of changing batteries at the most inconvenient times. Then a friend of mine told me about Lyric hearing aids. OMG my hearing couldn't be better. No more beeps that tell you your battery is dying. Yippee. I can hear so well and Dr. Laura Buskirk at the downtown location is the best. Went to a 1,000 person dinner yesterday and could hear the whole program. They are more expensive than a regular hearing aid but certainly well worth it. They get totally replaced about every six to eight weeks. I keep waiting for the BEEP, but I never hear it!!!! If you are looking to get hearing aids for the first time, please go the the nearest Hearing Health Center. Not everyone qualifies for the Lyric, but they do extensive testing and give you a free 30 day trial. Don't wait another day. These are the best things in the world. I've suffered from Tinnitus in my left ear for over a year, and have tried every remedy I could in order to get some relief, with no luck. After a regular doctor visit, referral to an ENT doctor, hearing tests, etc., and still no help, I decided to try the Hearing Health Center. I met with Dr. Riel, and after a hearing test, she very simply explained what could be causing the Tinnitus, and how we might be able to manage, or completely stop it. She suggested we do a trail on a hearing aid to bring the hearing in my left ear up to normal levels, and so far it's working! Dr. Riel was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and went out of her way to help me understand all of my treatment options, and costs. For the first time in almost a year, I have finally experienced some peace and quiet, and I cannot thank Dr. Riel enough. My visit to Hearing Health Center has quite literally changed my life. More

I have never had a bad experience with the doctors and assistants. The reception staff could use training and organization. They never have my referral even though my PCP sends it. While that is aggravating, the experience in the exam room is always as pleasant as any eye exam can be. Dr. Goldman is very nice and answers any questions I have. I do tell him exactly what I am looking for from the appointment (contact and glass prescription) and I have never had a problem getting it. More
