Meet Dr. Frere
Dr. Brittany Frere is a staff optometrist at Eye Health Vision Centers in our Fall River, MA facility. She is knowledgeable in a wide variety of eye health areas, including general eye care. Dr. Frere was born and raised in Ontario, Canada. During her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, cooking ambitious dishes, and spending time with her family.
Areas of Expertise
Dr. Frere has experience in multiple specialized areas of vision and ocular health. Beyond practicing general optometry for patients of all ages, she performs medical and diabetic eye exams and co-manages the treatment of cataract and refractive surgery patients. Dr. Frere has also developed expertise in specialty contact lens fittings.
Education
Dr. Frere graduated from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada on the Dean’s Honors List with a major in biomedical sciences. She received her doctor of optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry and was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society. While earning her degree, she completed multiple clinical externships. These were fulfilled at the Medical College of Virginia, the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford, MA, the East Boston Neighborhood Health Center, the Tufts Hospital of Pediatric Optometry, and the Perkins School for the Blind. She was a member of Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity and traveled on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic to provide eye care and glasses to those in need.
